He was united in marriage with Marguerite E. Spidell of Pacific Junction January 1, 1934 at the Corning Federated Church. four children were born to this union.
As a hong man, Harold farmed in the Corning and Prescott areas. In 1943, the moved into Corning where he worked for the Farmers Coop. Creamery for many years. His favorite years were spent as an officer of the Corning Police Department, but he retired from this in 1975.
Harold attended the First Baptist Church, serving as a trustee until the church disbanded. He also served as a Corning City Councilman and drove for the Corning Ambulance Service. His greatest enjoyment was time spent with his grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents, an infant brother, his son, Jack Campbell, and an infant great-granddaughter.
Survivors include his wife Marguerite of Corning, two daughters, Sharon Walter and husband Mervin of Prescott, and Shirley Furs and husband Don of Des Moines; one son, Loren and wife Dorthy of Kansas City, Missouri; one brother, Ronald Campbell of Corning; and two sisters, Dorothy Cupp and husband Albert of Boliver, Missouri and Velma Simpson and husband Charles of Port Angeles, Washington.
Services were held at the Coen-Beaty Funeral Home in Corning, February 27, 1987 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Jack Cutbirth officiating. Interment was in Oak Hill Cemetery, Corning.
Music was provided by Kathy Schafer, organist and vocalist. Casket bearers were David, Jack, and Randy Campbell, Steve, Tim, and Greg Branan, and Mike and Ed Larson. Honorary bearers were Greg Woods, Dan Hartman, David Lester, Kevin Russell, Todd Hixon, and LeRoy Currin.
