Dorothy M. Cupp, 93 of Sussex County passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2012 at the Waverly Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born May 24, 1919 in Prescott, Iowa to Mary Fern Pottinger Campbell Cox and Guy Campbell; as well as her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Albert Cupp, two brothers Ronald Campbell and Harold Campbell, sister Velma Simpson and an infant daughter Susan Diane Cupp.
She and her husband moved to Missouri from Iowa in 1951, there they lived in Springfield, MO until moving to Fair Play, MO in 1960 where she lived until her husband passed away in 1987. Shortly afterwards she moved to Yorktown, VA to live with her son and his wife. In 1999, they all moved to the farm in Disputanta, Virginia, where she dearly loved sitting on her porch, walking, and watching the wildlife daily. Dorothy will be buried on the family farm in the Cupp Family Cemetery. She was an avid member of the Extension Service in Missouri and here in Virginia and was also a member of Trinity United Methodist Church. To everyone she ever met she was affectionately known as “Grandma Cupp”. She taught numerous seminars on homemaking and cooking.
She is survived by her one son, Dr. Dale L. Cupp and wife, Cynthia Bendall Cupp of Disputanta; four grandchildren, David S. Cupp of FL, Deanna Dawn Brown and husband, Christopher of GA, Douglas L. Cupp and his wife, Erica of CO; Robert A. Blackburn and wife, Kelly of Yorktown, VA; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 10021 County Drive, Disputanta, VA 23842 with the Reverend Bob Blinn officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM Friday at the Petersburg Chapel of J.T. Morriss & Son Funeral Home & Cremation Service. Interment will be in the Cupp Family Cemetery. The family is deeply indebted to her care giver of six years and closest and dearest friend Joanne Blizzard of Waverly. Joanne made it possible for her to enjoy her last years of life after falling and breaking her hip in 2006. Many thanks to the staff and personnel at Waverly Health and Rehabilitation Center where she was given exceptional nursing care for the last three months.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 10021 County Drive, Disputanta, VA 23842 or the Petersburg Seventh Day Adventist Church, 300 Poplar Drive, Petersburg, VA 23805.

I assumed that the Cupp Family Cemetery was this one where her husband was buried. There were a couple of others.
