TUSCALOOSA Clarence W. Stokes, age 88, of Tuscaloosa, died Jan. 31, 2008, at VA Medical Center. Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens.
He was preceded in death by his sisters:

Lizzy Maybell [STOKES] HOBSON
Lena Estelle [STOKES] JOHNSON
Myrtle Lucille [STOKES] DUREN PARKER
and his brothers:

Survivors include his sisters, Frances Irene [STOKES] DUNCAN DANIELS and twin sister xxx, both of Tuscaloosa.
He was born March 14, 1919, along with his twin sister, in Stokes, Ala. He served 24 years in the U.S. Marine Corp., 20 years working at the VA Hospital, and 15 years in security at Pizitz before retiring.
