Obituary of Clarice Moon Bobo

TUSCALOOSA-Clarice (Stokes) Moon Bobo age 99, of Tuscaloosa, Al, passed away peacefully at home, January 26, 2019. Services will be 2pm, Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Memory Chapel Funeral Home, officiated by her Pastor Keith Pugh of Alberta Baptist. Visitation is one hour prior to the 2pm service at the funeral home.

She was preceded in death by her parents John T. Stokes-born 1868 in Talking Rock, Georgia and Farrar (Logan) Stokes-born 1890 in Centreville, Al; her daughter Floretta F. Kinard; her husbands Willie I. Moon (father of their children) and Rev. Belton L. Bobo; Eight brothers Irby, Earnest, Frank, Perry, Bernard, Clarence, Clifford, and Ralph; Five sisters Wiltie Hendrix, Maybell Hobson, Estelle Johnson, Myrtle Duren Parker, and Frances Duncan Daniels.

She is survived by her daughter and caregiver Sally Jeanette Moon of Northport, Al; son Willie E.(Billy)Moon and wife Hazel of Centreville, Al; Six Grandchildren-Joe Moon, Barry Moon, Terry Moon, Pamela Green, Wendy Ray and Heath Mitchell; Eleven Great Grandchildren; One Great-Great Grandchild and two more coming soon.

Clarice was born March 14, 1919, along with her twin brother, Clarence V. Stokes, at Stokes Station (Hwy 82E) Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. She retired from Druid City Hospital where some of you may remember her from her many years working on the maternity floor. She was a member of four churches during her religious life; Gilgal Baptist, Fairview Wesleyan Methodist, Holten Heights Nazarene and Alberta Baptist. She lived her life for the Lord, in front of her children and everyone she met and was one of the sweetest people you could ever meet. A very positive person that always had a smile on her face. She was our sparkle-loving, always laughing 99 year old Joy. She will always be missed, but her legacy will live on in those who loved her.

Pallbearers will be Joe Moon, Barry Moon, William Moon, Donnie Green, Robert Green, Clint Massey. She will be remembered by: Special Niece - Delora Banks, Special Friends - Paulette Hamner, Charles and Joanna McElroy, Beloved Friend - Elbea Francisco. A special thanks to Leigh, Leslie and Candice of Amedisys Hospice.
