Thomas Addison Runnells was born on Jan. 11, 1889, the youngest child of Renny and Nancy Jane (Boaz) Runnells. He married Hallie Geraldine Mason on Feb. 19, 1907. They were the parents of four children: Floy (Runnells) Ehlers DeSpain, Norman, Vern and Ruth (Runnells) Pritchett. He passed away on May 15, 1961.

Thomas Runnells, father of Mrs. Jewell Pritchett of Lizton, died Monday in the Putnam County Hospital in Greencastle. A 72-year-old native of Putnam County, he had lived in the Cloverdale area for 40 years prior to moving to Fillmore four years ago. He had been engaged in farming his entire lifetime and was a member of the Fillmore Methodist Church.

Services will be conducted this afternoon at 2 pm in the Powell Funeral Home in Coatesville with burial in Fillmore.

Surviving with the daughter are the widow, Mrs. Hallie Runnells; one other daughter, Mrs. Floy Ehlers of Indianapolis; two sons, Norman Runnells of Cloverdale and Vern Runnells of Coatesville; two brothers and a sister.
