Born six miles from Winnfield, he lived in Winnfield most of his life and spent his later years in St. Maurice where he served as postmaster.
Funeral services were held Sunday at Sardis Baptist Church with the Rev. E. B. Barton officiating. His grandsons served as pallbearers.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Berrian Bailey of St. Maurice; one son, Chris Bailey of St. Maurice; four daughters, Mrs. Ranal Brady, Sr., Atlanta; Mrs. Ernest Audibert, New Orleans; Mrs. Lloyd Elwood [sic Ellwood] of Port Allen, La.; Mrs. John Howard, Denver, Colo,; one sister, Mrs. Maud Long of Winnfield; one brother, B. W. Bailey of Winnfield, and several grandchildren.
