Mrs. Zora May Barnett of Rt. 2, Jonesboro, died Thursday in the local hospital.
She was 95 and had lived in Coryell County 75 years.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Scott's Funeral Chapel, with Rev. Wesley Jones and Rev. Ray Elliott officiating. Burial was in Restland Cemetery.

Mrs. Barnett was born July 5, 1888, in Leon County. She moved to Coryell County in 1908 and was married to John Barnett on June 21 of that year. They lived in Coryell County all their married life. Mr. Barnett died in 1957.

Mrs. Barnett, who was a member of the Levita United Methodist Church, was preceded in death by a son, Johnnie, and three infant children.

Survivors include one son, Rufus E. Barnett of Jonesboro; two daughters, Mrs. Dovie May Crouch of Bryan and Mrs. Martha Pearl Whisenhunt of Gatesville; a sister, Mrs. Lula Fleming of Gatesville; one brother, C. E. Shirey Sr. of Gatesville; eight grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers for Mrs. Barnett's funeral were Roger Barnett, Bill Harrison, Troy Lee Whisenhunt, Bobby Baize, Boyd Crouch and Elbert Mills.

Honorary pallbearers were Joe Lightsey, Gail Pruitt, Johnny Stobaugh, Paul Russell, Charles Young, Stanley Young, Dr. Dickie Moreland, and Mrs. Barnett's great-grandchildren.
