****************

Louisa Richey was born in 1849 near Chattanooga, Tennessee, to parents Elizabeth and Sanford Richey according to the 1850 US census. She lived in that area until after the Civil War ended. It is probable that her father Sanford Richey died between 1860 and 1870. Lou and her mother moved with other family to the Buffalo, Dallas county, Missouri area and were living there at the time of the 1870 U.S. census. Lou was called by her middle name "Eliza" when she was younger. Her 3rd given name was "Lucretia" according to her application for widows benefits.

Louisa married Alex Moore on December 4, 1870 near Louisburg, Dallas county, Missouri. They lived there for a time then moved to Aurora in Lawrence county. Later they moved to Webb City. Lou and Alex had seven children that reached maturity; 5 boys and 2 girls. Their oldest son George Washington Moore became a lead and zinc ore buyer and was mayor of Webb City in the early 1900's.
