From the Buffalo Reflex, Buffalo, MO, 03 May 1883:
"Mr. Francis Hale, an old and resspected citizen of Buffalo, died last night. His remains will be taken to Louisburg tomorrow by the Masons of this place, of which he was a member in good standing, and turned over to the lodge at that place, and the two lodges will bury him in the Louisburg cemetery. Mr. Hale was an honest, upright citizen."
