Mae grew up at Aurora and Jasper. She married Jackson R. (Jack) Sherman on May 12 1904 at the courthouse at Webb City. The local newspaper said this on May 13: Mayor Moore's Sister Married - Justice Warren Woodward was called over to the court house yesterday afternoon to officiate at the wedding of J.R. Sherman of Carterville and Mae Moore of Jasper. Miss Moore is a sister of Mayor Geo W. Moore. The young couple will make their future home in Carterville after a couple of weeks visit in Aurora."

MRS. JACK SHERMAN, 55, FORMER RESIDENT, DIES
Mrs. Jack (Mae) Sherman, 55, a former resident of Webb City and a sister of George Moore, former Webb City mayor, died this morning at 9:15 o'clock at St. John's hospital where she was taken from her home at 217 North Joplin street this week.
Surviving are two sons, Jack Sherman and Virgil Sherman, the latter of Los Angeles; and two brothers, Art Moore and George Moore, both formerly of this city, now residing in Joplin.
The body was removed to the Hedge-Nelson funeral home.
