Loma (Barnett) Greer, age 96, of Jamestown, passed away Friday, May 29, 2009 at Signature Healthcare of Fentress County.
Mrs. Greer was born April 21, 1913 in Fentress County, Tennessee. She was a cook for York Agricultural Institute. She was a member of the Crossroads Baptist Church.
Mrs. Greer is survived by son, Charles Greer and wife Mildred of Jamestown; daughter, Sue Duncan of Jamestown; five grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; twelve great-great-grandchildren; sister, Geneva Davis of Pall Mall; brother, Edward Barnett of OH; and special friend, Frona Beaty of Jamestown.
Mrs. Greer was preceded in death by father, Henry Barnett; mother, Emma (Delk) Barnett; husband, Oliver Greer; granddaughter, Margaret Seymour; son-in-law, Edward Duncan; seven sisters, Lola Riles, Lucie Ooten, Maudie Brooks, Susie Frogge, Ellen Roysden, Ida Slaven, and Hazel Franklin; and three brothers, Harold Barnett, Broder Barnett and Joe Barnett.
Funeral services were held Sunday, May 31, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Jennings Funeral Home with Bro. Leeman Cravens and Bro. Randy Smith officiating. Burial followed in the Frogge Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers included Vanessa Kell, Dustin Stephens, Chris Seymour, Brock Smith, Ben Bertram, Jeff Wright and Carrie Laird.
