Daniel Edward Dean, 79 years of age of 213 West Austin Street in Webb City died at 3:55 o'clock Sunday morning, July 6, at Freeman Hospital at Joplin where he had been a patient six days.

Mr. Dean was born July 16, 1889, at LaPlata, Missouri, and had been a resident of the Carl Junction and Webb City areas for the last 30 years. He and his wife lived in Carl Junction for a number of years where he helped his son, Frank Dean, in his feed store business for a time. Mr. and Mrs. Dean moved back to Webb City a few years ago from Carl Junction. He was a retired foundry employee and a member of the Baptist Church.

Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Ruth Dean, whom he married August 12, 1927 at Garden City, Kansas; three daughters, Mrs. Evelyn Winnett of Stringtown on Route 1, Carl Junction; Mrs. Christine Sorg of Grove, Oklahoma; and Mrs. Lela Wuellner of Webb City Mo.; 2 sons Frank Dean of Carl Junction, Mo. and Hershel Dean of Sacramento, Calif.; 26 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon in Webb City at the Hedge-Lewis Chapel with the Rev. G.J. Rees officiating. Burial was in Ozark Memorial Park Cemetery at Joplin.

Pallbearers were Delbert Winnett, Carl Winnett, Junior Sorg, Jerry Dean, Max Wuellner, and Gene Wuellner.
