William James, a former resident of this county, born in Helt's Prairie March 6, 1824, but of late years a resident of Turner, KS, died at his home March 28, 1902, and was interred in the Argentine Cemetery near the place Easter Sunday. He was twice married. Two children, residents of this state, and 4 children and last wife, residents of Kansas, survive him. He was a faithful member of the M.E. Church for over 60 years,. He was the oldest of a family of 11 children of Edmund and Elizabeth James. He was in business in Clinton and Perrysville for a number of years.
* Note - Argentine was absorbed into Maple Hill Cemetery.*
