Funeral rites were held at the Stenberg Funeral Home in Amery on Tuesday, June 16, for Clarence Ed Bruner, 73, who died at the ARVM hospital on Saturday, June 13 [1964].
The Rev. John Kelley officiated at the services with interment in the Apple River Cemetery. Pallbearers were Melvin, Gilbert and Clifford Carlson, Lawrence and LeRoy Markee and Victor Olson. Music was provided by Mrs. Larry Anderson.
Clarence Edward Bruner, a long-time resident of the county, was born Oct. 12, 1890, at Exira, Iowa, to Mr. and Mrs. John R. Bruner. He was untied in marriage to Sophia M. Schraper [Schaper] December, 1920, and she preceded him in death May 23, 1945.
He is survived by 10 children: Dorothy (Mrs. James Waldron), Mary Anne (Mrs. John Jensen), and Eva of Minneapolis; Arnold, Roseville; Roy, Milwaukee; Edwin, Rocklin, Calif.; Ray, Seattle; and Kenneth, Schofield Barracks, Hawaii.
Also surviving are six sisters: Grace (Mrs. Ira Swartz), Estherville, Ia.; Gladys Ballenger, Broken Bow, Ne.; Tina (Mrs. Henry L. Carlson); Iva (Mrs. Victor Gallant); Ada (Mrs. Harold Mechling); Ruth (Mrs. Otto Arntzen) of Amery; also one brother, Glen, of Amery. (Amery Free Press, Amery WI, July 2, 1964)
