CHRISTIANE REINHARDT HESS

Christiane was born the 22nd of September, 1837 the daughter of Johannes & Barbara Elisabeth Fabig Reinhardt, 7th of seven children in Schwarzbach, near Meiningen in Thuringia. Two of her older brothers immigrated to Nelson, Wisconsin before she and her husband, Emil Hess immigrated in 1868 settling in By Golly Creek, Nelson, WI. She had 9 children: Hulda (Mrs. Charles Johnston), Edwin August, Gustav, twins daughters: Lisetta (Mrs. John Hartman) and Augustina (who died), William, August, Albert and John. She died 24 Sept 1889 unexpectedly at age 52 and was buried in Deer Creek Cemetery. One person said she was told that Christiane died of heart failure.

Mrs. Hess, of Nelson, aged 52 years, died on Tuesday of last week and was buried on Thursday. Mrs. Hess was a sister of Postmaster Reinhardt of this city.
