Altman Rites Held Tuesday in Georgetown

Martin Linwood Altman Jr 64 died unexpectedly at his residence at his residence on South Island Road.


Funeral services were Tuesday morning at eleven o'clock in the Wayne United Methodist Church. Officiating ws the Rev Ralph T Lowrimore and burial followed in Elmwood Cemtery under the direction of Mayer Funeral Home.

Mr Altman was born in Georgetown on January 31 1912 a son of the late Martin Linwood Altman and Mrs Elizabeth Haselden Altman. He had sepnt his entire life in Georgetown where he was owner operator of the Altman Sewing Machine Sales and Service Company. Mr Altman was a member of the Wayne United Methodist Church.

Surviving are his widow Mrs Pearl B Altman of Georgetown three daughters Mrs Byrtie A Campbell of Isle of Palms Mrs Linda A Nettles of Charleston and Mrs Kay A Sanders of Mobile Ala a son Martin Linwood Altman III of Andrews three brothers William Martin Altman and Laurice Gaillard Altman all of Georgetown two sisters Mrs Ethel A Cribb of St Paul Minn and Mrs Eunice A Hilliard of Wilmington NC and seven grandchildren.
