Born December 1, 1886, in St. Louis County, Missouri. Daughter of William Patterson Veale and Ruth Grigg Barnes. Married to Ernest John Percy, four children: Ruth, Mary, Elizabeth, John; died August 2, 1919.
On her mother's side, Tempie was descended from Daniel Boone, on her father's side from Captain James Piggott, both of them important figures of the American frontier in the late 18th century. She was a gentle, pretty, and beloved wife and mother who died much too young of influenza complicated by tuberculosis.
