Hazel Ahlstrand, 91, of Sartell, died Saturday, Nov. 19, 2000 at Country Manor Health Care Center nursing home in Sartell, MN.
Services were held Tuesday, Nov. 21 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, St. Cloud. Rev. Allan Bjorklund and Rev. Dee Pederson officiated and burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, North Branch.
Hazel Ahlstrand was born April 17, 1909 in North Branch to John and Ida (Bjorklund) Satterstrom. She graduated from St. Cloud Normal School (now St. Cloud State University) in 1930 with a teaching certificate. She taught school in Sedan, MN and married Elmer Ahlstrand on Sept. 8, 1943 in North Branch. She lived in the St. Cloud area most of her life and was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, St. Cloud where she was active in the Ladies Aid and church circle. She volunteered at the Veteran's Administration Medical Center and was a member of the Order of Eastern Star, St. Cloud Granite Chapter #3.
Survivors include her sons and daughters-in-law, Bruce and Mary Ahlstrand of Conyers, GA, Perry and Carol Ahlstrand of Clear Lake, Jay and Janet Ahlstrand of Sauk Rapids; grandchildren: Sheri Baldwin, Cathy Long, Gaye Dean, Jon, Jeffrey, Julie; Stephen, Kevin, David, and Craig Ahlstrand; and six great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Elmer on June 5, 1980; sisters, Violet Theisen and Gen Gaylord; brothers, Robert, Hardy and Arnold Satterstrom.
