Anna Hunt was born in Illinois Sept. 4, 1869,and died at her home at Athelstan Sept. 15, 1939, at the age of 70 years and 11 days.
She was of a family of 6 girls. In 1874 she moved with her parents, Joseph and Sarah J. [ane] Hunt to Nodaway county, Mo., and later moved to Oregon, returning to this vicinity, where she lived until the time of her death.
On Dec. 23, 1897, she was united in marriage to Robert L. Brumfield. To this union two children were born, Bert O.[lin] of Sheridan, Mo., and Mrs. Bessie Miller of Bedford.
Survivors of the immediate family are the husband, daughter and husband, son and wife, five grandchildren, and a sister, Mrs. R. J. Hummel of Spokane, Wash.
In the year 1907 she was converted and united with the Methodist church at Sheridan. She remained a loyal and devoted Christian throughout her life.
Funeral services were held at the Athelstan Community church Sept. 17, conducted by Challie E. Graham, and interment in the Athelstan cemetery.
