Buford H. Johnson, 58, of Richlands, passed away Monday, March 30, 1998 at a Richlands medical facility following an apparent heart attack. Born in Russell County he was the son of Mrs. Margie Richardson Johnson Mullins of Richlands, Va., and the late William Howard Johnson. He was a charter member of the Full Gospel Temple Ministries in Richlands where he served as deacon, trustee, Sunday school superintendent and head of maintenance.

Surviving in addition to his mother is his wife, Mrs. Gayna Louise Williamson Johnson; one son and daughter-in-law, Terry Matthew and Elizabeth Johnson of Richlands; two brothers, Darrell Johnson of Claypool Hill, Va., and Dan Johnson of Anchorage, Alaska; two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Johnson of Richlands and Mrs. Mae Vance of Swords Creek Va.; two granddaughters, Kristian Amber Johnson and Cameron Elizabeth Johnson.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, April 2, at 3 p.m. at Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff, Va., with Rev. Bernard Shrader and Rev. Otis Musick officiating. Burial will follow at the Greenhills Memory Gardens Cemetery at Claypool Hill, Va. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be men of church. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 9 p.m.
