Grace M. Pitcock:

Grace Madeline Pitcock "76," of 512 Eagle Place, in Winchester, Va., died Saturday, June 23rd, 2001, in Winchester Medical Center. Mrs. Pitcock was born Aug. 25th, 1924, in Winchester, Va., the daughter of Salem and (Mary) Virginia Lowry (Lowery) Newlin. She had worked as a custodian for Winchester City Schools; and well as at the Virginia "Apple" Packing Co., and also at Mc Crory's - for 12 years, and at Pifer Office Supply - for 20 years. She was a lifetime member of the Second Opequon Presbyterian Church. She married Raymond Asbury "Jenks" Pitcock, on Jan. 11th, 1941, in Kernstown, Va. Mr. Pitcock died in 1992.
Surviving are two daughters: Georgia (Pitcock) Kruthoff, of Bay City, Texas; and Patsy (Pitcock) Wolford, of Winchester, Va; and also a son: Donald Raymond Pitcock, of Burke, Va; two sisters: Lena (Newlin) Wisecarver, and Margaret (Newlin) Gardner, both of Winchester, Va;
four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. A funeral will be at 2 p.m., Wednesday, at Omps Funeral Home "Amherst Chapel," with the Rev. George Nickels, officiating. Burial will be in Mount Hebron Cemetery, Va. The family will receive friends, from 7 to 9 p.m., today, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society for Breast Cancer Research, 2654 Valley Avenue, Suite B., Winchester, Va. 22602., or to Second Opequon Presbyterian Church, 107 Miller Road, Winchester, Va. 22602.

(My added note): My mother (Sandra Fay NEWLIN Brooks-Wilson) said her Aunt Grace was a friendly, hard-working lady.
