Carl Hilton

Flint, Mich. – Carl D. (Whitney) Hilton, 81, died Thursday, Aug. 29, 1991, at Flint Osteopathic Hospital, Flint, Mich.

Carl Hilton was born in Bloomington, Ill. June 20, 1910. He married Mattie Ellis in Rogersville, March 20, 1928. He was a member of the Flint Baptist Temple, member of Morningstar Lodge 556 FM & AM and a member of the Elf Khurafeh Shrine Temple and a past member of the Tin Lizzie's of Davison. He was a Millwright for General Motors for 23 years, retiring in 1975.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Curtis Hilton and two sons, Bob Hilton and Don Hilton.

Survivors are his wife, Mattie; one son, Jack Hilton of Grand Blanc; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; three brothers, Hugh Hilton, Bill Hilton and Gale Hilton, all of Rogersville; four sisters, Nettie Liford, Woleskie Sisk and Martha Smith, all of Rogersville, Ruth Davis of Kingsport; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services were conducted 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, at Flint Baptist Temple with Dr. James D. Lougheed officiating.

Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery.
