Daughter of Revolutionary Soldier Died at 96, in her home in Oklahoma.

ANTLERS. Okla., June 1. (AF) Mrs. Sarah Starnes Ellis, Oklahoma's only daughter of a Revolutionary War soldier, died here today. She was 96 years old.

Only a few weeks ago a birthday party for the white-haired daughter of another age was held here by the Daughters of the American Revolution, the American Legion Auxiliary, and the United Daughters of the Confederacy. A huge birthday cake for the occasion was sent by the D. A. R.' of Oklahoma City. Mr Ellis was born at Bolivar, Tenn.

With her husband, Isaac Ellis she went to Arkansas and then came to Indian territory. After her husband's death she made her home here with her grandson, Clarence Ellis Until her last illness Mrs. Ellis was usually active for a woman of her age and constantly refused offers of aid in walking. She kept abreast of current events and was emphatic in praise of the modern girl. Recently her portrait was painted by Florence Joslyn, an Oklahoma City artist.
