John Isaac Smith, age 66, expired November 6, 1981 after an illness of several months. He was born August 22, 1915 In Sherburnville, Illinois to the late George H. and Myrtle Belle. (Linebrink) Smith. He served in the Army Air Corps during World War II. Mr. Smith married Dorothy Alice (Rice Smith) Branson on January 12, 1940.

He is the loving father of Elizabeth (Carl) Wickline, Kathleen (George) Hooker. Barbara (Ralph) Longo, William S. (Noreen) Smith and David E. (Carolyn) Smith. Fond grandfather of 12. Dear brother of Ethel Davis, Jeanette Lafine, Marian Garrett and Raymond E., all of Kankakee and 11 deceased brothers and sisters. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Monday, November 9 at 11 a.m. at McKenzie Funeral Home, 15618 S. Cicero Ave., Oak Forest. The Rev. Ruth C. Wickersham officiating. Interment Chapel Hill Garden South. Visitation Saturday 5 to 9 pm and Sunday 2 to 9 pm. Memorials to the American Cancer Society preferred.
