Husband Exonerated of Blame in Huguenot Road Case
Port Jervis - Mrs. Maude Davis, thirty-six Glass street, died last night at Deerpark Hospital from injuries suffered in an automobile accident on the Huguenot road Christmas day. She had not been told that her ten-year-old daughter Marilyn had died in the accident, which sent eight others to the hospital. Although Mrs. Davis recovered consciousness after her admittance to Deerpark Hospital, her condition had remained critical all week and there was little hope of her recovery.
A few hours before her death her husband, Cecil Davis, thirty-two, driver of the car, was absolved of all charges in connection with the accident. After taking all the statements Coroner March said he believed that Davis was not responsible for the accident. His attempt to avoid a crash was frustrated by the slippery road.
