Louisa was born to Jens and Thora Stenson. She was baptized Jensena Louisa, but went by the name Louisa. She was 13 years old when the family moved to the Dakotas. The farm was at Oldham, SD. Arnie Bo, who was later known as Arne Boe Olson, was born September 4, 1857, in Vik i Sogn, Norway to Ole Olson Bo and Anna Ellingsdatter Bo. Arne emigrated to America in 1882 and settled in Kingsbury county. Arne and Louisa were married on November 26th, 1885. They had a quarter of land which Arne had purchased after his arrival from Norway. For two years he worked on various farms following which the couple took up residence on the home farm. They had thirteen children. Arne and Lousia were active in the work of the church. Arne was l lay preacher and conducted services in parishes especially in parishes without a pastor. They lived on their farm until 1936 when they moved to Lake Preston. Arne had a shop in the yard and kept busy with various projects. Mrs. Arne Olson, 88 year old pioneer who died Monday of last week. Jensena Louise Olson was born to Jens and Thora Stenson on September 27, 1868, near Westby, Wisconsin. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. At the age of 13 she came with her parents to Dakota Territory and settled on a farm east of Oldham. On November 26, 1885, she was married to Arne Boe Olson at Oldham. In the spring of 1886 they moved from the Oldham vicinity to North Preston. The were charter members of the Zion Congregation which later merged with the North Preston Congregation. Here, as long as here health would permit, Mrs. Olson was an active Ladies Aid Worker and an ardent supporter of all mission activities. In October 1938, Mr. and Mrs. Olson retired from the farm and moved to Lake Preston. Mr. Olson died in 1946, just a few months after they celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. Thirteen children were born to the couple, 12 surviving. One son, Oscar, died in infancy.
