Gervaise F. WERTZ, a native of this county, died at his home in Altoona on Monday, June 20, after an illness of several years. Interment will be made in Calvary cemetery, that city, this morning following requiem mass at 9 o'clock in Mt. Carmel Catholic Church.
Deceased was a son of the late CHARLES A. WERTZ and was born in the Valley, a few miles south of Bedford, on August 30, 1876, and moved to Altoona in 1906, being employed as a car inspector for the P. R. R. He is survived by his mother, MRS. MARGARET (Schenck) WERTZ, who resides on the home place; his wife, who was CARRIE FLETCHER, and five children: JOHN, EDWIN, ROBERT, BERNADINE and FRANCIS, all at home. Also, by these brothers and sister R. W. WERTZ, Bedford; ROBERT and AMBROSE, residing in the Valley; LOYOLS of Johnstown; Mrs. GRACE SHAFFER, Altoona; EDNA Negr; Sister M. GEORGINIA,, IHM, Edgewood, R. I. and SISTER M. BEATA, IHM, Carbondale.
