Loyola Vincent Wertz was born on September 15, 1883, in Bedford Township, Pennsylvania. Son of Charles Ambrose Wertz and Margaret Caroline Schenck, he was the brother of Gervaise, Roosevelt William, Edna Mary, Ambrose Charles, Magdalene (Sister M. Georgina, IHM), Robert Rufus, Grace, and Elizabeth (Mother M. Beata, IHM). He was joined in marriage with Josephine H. Hartman by Reverend J. Boyle, on May 23, 1906 at St. John Gualbert's, Johnstown, PA. They were the parents of a daughter, Margaret. He registered for the WWI draft in 1918 and at that time he was employed as a clerk and shipper for Cambria Steel Co., Johnstown, PA. Loyola was employed as a truck driver and in 1930 delivered for a bakery in Johnstown.

Loyola died on September 23, 1974 at Memorial Hospital in at the age of 91, and was buried with his wife, in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Conemaugh Townshup, PA.

Born Sept. 15, 1883 in Bedford County, he was the son of Charles A. and Margaret C. (Schenck) Wertz. He was proceded in death by parents; wife, former Josephine Hartman; and three brothers and a sister.

He was survived by a daughter, Mrs. Margaret Wilson, Johnstown; brother, Robert, Bedford; and sisters, Mother M. Beata Wertz, Bedford; Miss Edna M., Hollidaysburgh; and Mrs. Grace Shaffer, Altoona; also several nieces and nephews.

He was a retired LOOM custodian and amember of St. John Gualbert's Co-Cathedral.

Services were held Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 11 a.m. Burial was in Forest Lawn Cemetery."
