Mrs. Margaret A. Porter Dies After 3 - Year Illness
Mrs. Margaret A. Porter, 72, of Pasadena, Calif., a former resident of the East Liverpool area and widow of Frederick G. Porter, died Saturday at 4 a.m. at the Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena after an illness of three years. Mrs. Porter was born in Chester, Nov. 12, 1892, to the late E. Grant Allison and Margaret E. Hobbs Allison. She lived here all her life except for the five years she spent in Pasadena. She was a member of the Newell Presbyterian Church and the Colonial Club of East Liverpool. Her husband died April 6, 1933. She leaves a daughter, Mrs. Jane P. Snow of Santa Maria, Calif.; three sons, William F. Porter of East Liverpool, who is president of the Globe Brick Co., Dr. Richard A. Porter of Hendersonville, N. C. and Robert G. Porter of Natrona Heights, Pa.; two sisters, Mrs. Jane Sherrard of Pasadena and Mrs. Esther Anderson of Delaware, Ohio; a brother, Burgess Allison of West Virginia and nine grandchildren. Services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Dawson Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles Haddock. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home Tuesday evening.
