Rulon Jay Reynolds, loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and brother returned home to his Heavenly Father on October 24, 1996.

He was born in Cottonwood, Utah on May 24, 1907 to Charles Robert and Louise Park Brockbank Reynolds. He married Irene Ellen Ruffell in the Salt Lake Temple on April 29, 1929.

Jay's most prized possessions were his wife and family. He spent countless hours with his children. He always supported them in their endeavors. He loved spending time with his brothers and sisters. Later in life he traveled many places with his brother and two sisters. He loved hunting, fishing and gardening. He always raised a huge garden that he shared with family, friends and neighbors. He had a big heart and was always wanting to share what he had with others. He was a very honest man.

Partner with brother and two brothers-in-law in the Welch Fish Hatchery. He and brother Clyde started Reynolds Brothers Construction where he worked until his retirement.

Jay was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, holding the office of a High Priest. He served as a scout master; high counselor and temple worker. He also served a mission with his wife to the St. George Visitors Center.

Jay was a man who devoted his whole life to the service of his family and others in need. He had a great sense of humor and delighted in playing practical jokes. He was a true friend and a valiant servant of his Heavenly Father. He was a kind, brave, strong, generous and a hard working man who will be greatly missed by his family.

Jay is survived by his wife Irene and children; Rulon G. (Gloria) Reynolds; Claudette Nielsen (Robert); Arlan Jay Reynolds (Sherrie); Leonard Keith Reynolds (Patricia); all of Salt Lake City; M. Charles Reynolds (Anna), of St. George Utah; Raymond Leon Reynolds (Cheryl) of Pickerington, Ohio; Larry Wayne Reynolds, (Jolene) of Kansas City, Kansas; and Judy Kershaw (Kevin), of Cedar City, Utah; 45 Grandchildren; 59 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Owen F. Reynolds of Salt Lake City; one sister, Hazel Pierson of Idaho. preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Mabel Baker, Marie MacKay, Vernetta Chegwidden, and Lila Gorrings, brothers, Leonard & Clyde Reynolds.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 29, 1996 at 1 p.m. at Cottonwood 16th Ward, 1750 East Spring Lane. Friends and family may call Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 Highland Drive and one hour prior to services at the church. Interment Redwood Memorial Park.
