Born Aug. 8, 1898, in Salt Lake City, he was the son of John William and Bessie Lyon Arnold.
Mr. Arnold was a veteran of World War I, served in the 17th Cavalry, and was a member of the American Legion, Post No. 2.
On April 28, 1928, he married Caroline Ostlund in Salt Lake City. He was a member of the West Ensign ward, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include his widow, Salt Lake City; his father, Murray; two sons, Melvin E. Arnold, Garfield; Leo M. Arnold, with the U.S. Army at Ft. Sill Okla; a daughter, Evon Cox, Salt Lake City; three brothers, Roland Arnold, Murray; Lewis Arnold, Cedar City, Iron County; Roy Arnold, Salt Lake City; two sisters, Mrs. Eva Webb, Murray; Mrs. Roxy Peterson, California, and four grandchildren.
