James Marcus Branch, 75, of Richmond, departed this life, Saturday, May 31, 2003.

He was born November 4, 1927 in Richmond, VA, to the late Howard and Annie Branch, and was one of 10 children of that union, five boys and five girls.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Gladys B. Fitzgerald.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 44 years, Marian Cooper Branch, three sisters, Mrs. Ercelle Henderson, Mrs. Dorothy Williams and Mrs. Rose B. Gibson (Frank), a devoted brother, Mr. Richard Branch Sr. (Maggie), five sisters-in-law, five brothers-in-law, a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Remains rest at the Mimms Funeral Home, 19th and Hull Sts. Funeral services were held Wednesday, June 4, 2003, 12 noon at Swansboro Baptist Church, Roanoke and Midlothian Pike, Dr. Herbert R. Plummer, pastor, officiated. Interment in Maury Cemetery. Remains rested in church one hour prior to service. Relatives and friends attending funeral services assembled at the church, Wednesday, 11:30 a.m.
