The funeral of Mrs. Bertha Shipp, 67, of Hebert, was held at 10 a.m. Friday in Bethany Baptist Church here with the Rev. J. B. Bell and the Rev. Bobby Dye officiating.

Burial was in Bethany Cemetery under direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home in Columbia.

Mrs. Shipp died Tuesday in Caldwell Memorial Hospital in Columbia after a lengthy illness.

Survivors include three daughters, Mrs. Lucy Russell of Jackson, Miss., Mrs. Faye Harvey of Hebert and Miss Sherri Shipp of Monroe; eight sons, Alvin Shipp of Clarks, Shelby Shipp of Monroe, C. H. Shipp, Roy Shipp and Bob Shipp, all of Hebert, Joe Shipp of Fr. Polk, Lloyd Shipp of Columbia and Floyd Shipp of Fillmore, Calif.; three brothers, Muarl Duchesne of Carthage, Texas, Allen Duchesne of Bossier City, and Ernie [sic Ersie] Duchesne of Monroe; seven sisters, Mrs. Alpha Walters of Rayville, Mrs. Vernice [sic Verniece] Breland, Mrs. Cilla May Pratt and Mrs. Mackie Fitch, all of Monroe, Mrs. Joyce Rayburn [sic Rabun] of Farmerville, Mrs. Syble Feanoff [sic Evanoff] of Houston, Texas and Mrs. Betty Thompson of Chattanooga, Tenn.; 22 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Michael Russell, Charles Russell, Danny Emmons, Jimmy Emmons, Randy Shipp, Rodrick Shipp, Sammy Shipp, and Leslie Harvey.
