Services for Mrs. Mackie Duchesne Fitch, 89, of Monroe are 10:00AM on Monday, July 1st, 2013, at St. Paul's United Methodist Church in Monroe with Dr. Tim Neustifter officiating. Interment follows in Mulhearn Memorial Park, Monroe, LA under the direction of the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.
Born March 17th, 1924, in Alto, LA, Mrs. Fitch passed away in Monroe on Friday, June 28th, 2013. A retired secretary for the Superior Paint and Decorating Company, she was a long-time member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. Her grandsons were her pride and joy. They loved to spend time with their Nena. Mackie enjoyed baking and was excellent at it. Her nieces and nephews were always waiting for a chocolate pie or teacakes.
Mrs. Mackie was preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Fitch, in 1994, and her son, Gerald Benton, in 1953. She was also preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters, of which, she was the last survivor.
Survivors include her daughter, Sandra Voorhees and husband, Larry; two grandsons, Christopher, and Matthew and his wife, Maggie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She spent the last 10 years of her life at The Oakes Nursing Home. The family would like to thank the "Oakes Family" for their loving care of our mother and grandmother.
Visitation is Sunday, June 30th, 2013, from 5:00PM until 7:00PM at the Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe, 1200 Lamy Lane, Monroe
