Mary Beth "Babe" Thacker Burningham Panguitch, Utah Mary Beth "Babe" Thacker Burningham passed away suddenly at her home in Panguitch, Utah on December 17, 2006.

She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend and will be missed by everyone who came in contact with her. She was born August 17, 1933 in Heber City, Utah to Rawlins E. and Zella WrightThacker. Babe married Douglas D. Burningham on August 24, 1950 in Price, Utah. Along with her husband and children, Doug and Babe owned and operated the Colonial and Sands Motel's in Panguitch.

In 1975 they purchased the Panguitch Lake Resort working closely together as a family. They have made Panguitch and Panguitch Lake a better place for tourists and home-town people to visit and enjoy the beauty of this area. Through owning these businesses, they have made many friends throughout the world. Babe had a great sense-of-humor. She made people smile and laugh with her jokes and pranks. She was a perfectionist in everything that she did, especially with her home, yard and vehicles. She was a great cook and home-maker.

She is survived by her husband, Doug, of Panguitch; children, Douglas Blaine "Mooter" (Sandy) Burningham, Jenean (Brian) Hampton and daugher-in-law, Sherrie O. Burningham, all of Panguitch; 12 grandchildren, Todd, Tina, Stoney, Frankie, Jonnie, Acey, Jake, Rawley, Stormy, Tuggy, Bobbie and Ty; 10 great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Belva (Don) Fieldstead, Jenny Bleazard, Nedra (Max) Farnsworth, Veda Jorgensen, Ken (Lois) Thacker; sister-in-law, Edith Thacker, Colleen Thacker, June Thacker and Berniece Thacker. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Rick Edwin Burningham and J. Clayton Burningham; brothers, Sam (Lois) Thacker, Ted Thacker, Oral J. Thacker, Earl A. Thacker, Elvin G. Thacker, Glen B. Thacker, Verna (Jack) Allred and Grace (John) Kenison; brother-in-laws, Fred Bleazard and Leo Jorgenson.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, December 21, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. in the Panguitch 2nd Ward Chapel. Friends and family may call at the ward chapel, in Panguitch on Thursday from 10:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Burial will be in the Panguitch cemetery.
