Mr. Paul (Elmer) Hylton, age 75, of Pounding Mill, VA went to be with the Lord on July 4, 2008 at his home following a lengthy illness.
Born in Buchanan County he was the son of the late Isaac Wesley Hylton, Jr. & Mary Etta Rose Hylton. He was a pastor for 20 years at Mountain Top Pentecostal Holiness Church and a member of Pine Creek Holiness Church. He was a retired coal miner and a member of the U.M.W.A.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by seven brothers: Eugene Hylton, John Lewis Hylton, Henry Hylton, Otis Hylton, Charlie Hylton, Frazer Hylton & Ellis Hylton. Two sisters: Virgie Davis & Dellie Ferrell and a son-in-law, Gary Horne.
Mr. Hylton is survived by his wife of 52 years Ruby Absher Hylton;
Two daughters Diana Boyd & husband Joe of Raven, VA and Chris Horne of Cedar Bluff, VA; two brothers Leon Hylton & wife Georgie of Doran, VA and Billy Hylton & wife Shirley of Clifton Fork, VA; two sisters Georgia Powers of Pineville, WV and Madeline Deskins of Madisonville, OH; three grandsons Bryan Boyd, Ethan Horne and Jordan Horne; one granddaughter Sonyea Boyd; several nieces and nephews and a host of friends & family also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Paul (Elmer) Hylton will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Tuesday July 8, 2008 at the Singleton Funeral Service Chapel in Cedar Bluff, VA with Brother Jimmy Richardson & Brother Mike Altizer officiating. Burial will follow in the Greenhills Memory Gardens Cemetery at Claypool Hill, VA. Pallbearers will be Buford Davis, Charlie Absher, J.R. Absher, Bryan Boyd, Ethan Horne & Jordan Horne.
The Family will receive friends at the Singleton Funeral Service in Cedar Bluff, VA from 6-9 P.M. Monday.
