Dr. Lemuel A. Lasher of Presbyterian Lodge, 2628 Elmwood Ave., died Wednesday. He was a veteran of WWI, and served as a 1st Lt. in the U.S. Army Medical Department. He was a member of Luther Memorial Church, Kittanning Lodge 244 F&AM, the Scottish Rite Bodies Valley of Erie, Zem Zem Temple Shrine, and the Erie Maennerchor. He was a graduate of the University of Maryland, School of Medicine and did post-graduate work at Cook County Hospital, Chicago, and the Kocher Clinic, Bern, Switzerland. He was a member of the American College of Surgeons, the International College of Surgeons, the Pan-Pacific Surgical Association, Erie County Medical Society, and the Pa. Railroad Surgeons. He had served as chief of surgery at Saint Vincent Hospital, had been an attending surgeon at Saint Vincent, was a member of the surgical staff at the Hamot Hospital, and was a former consultant at Warren State Hospital. He was the widower of Jewel M. Dudenhoefer Lasher. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Edwin L. (Jean) Jones of Erie; two sons, Dr. Robert L. Lasher and Dr. J. Donald Lasher, both of Erie and nine grandchildren. Friends may call at the Donald C. Burton Funeral Home, 602 W. 10th, today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and may attend a service at the Luther Memorial Church, 225 W. 10th, Saturday at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Erie Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Parents of Diabetic Children, Box 216, Erie, Pa., 16512, or to the Presbyterian Lodge, 2628 Elmwood Ave., Erie, Pa., 16508.
