ANDREW JOSEPH ANDERSON, son of Thomas Franklin Anderson and Molly Elizabeth "Mary" Brewer Anderson, was born in Indian Territory (near Redland, Sequoyah County, Oklahoma). He was the only one of his siblings not born in Crawford County, Arkansas, as his parents were spending the winter in Indian Territory at the time of his birth.

Andrew married Maggie Jane Chapman on September 20, 1914, north of Natural Dam in Crawford County, Arkansas. They were the parents of (1) Mary Lettia Anderson Rains, 1915-2000, (2) Gladys Hazel Anderson Rippy, born in 1917, (3) Bertha Opaline Anderson, born 1919-1920 and died in September 1920, (4) Sylvia Irene Anderson Bartel, born in 1922, (5) Lennie Lorene Anderson, born in 1923 and died before 1930, (6) Maysol Eveliene Anderson Dunn, 1926-1999, (7) Willie Franklin Anderson, born in 1928 and died young sometime after 1930, and (8) Glen Doyle Anderson, born in 1933.

Andrew died on February 16, 1954 in Tulare County, California of cancer of the throat. He was buried in the Visalia Cemetery, Visalia, Tulare County, California.
