STEPHEN NELSON "STEVE" ANDERSON, son of Thomas Franklin Anderson and Molly Elizabeth "Mary" Brewer Anderson, was born July 2, 1887, in Crawford County, Arkansas. He left home as a young men and lived for a while with his mother's sister, Theodocia Luttrell, in Hedley TX.

Steve married Nettie Tidwell on May 23, 1909, in Crawford County, Arkansas. They later migrated to Oklahoma and finally California. They were the parents of (1) Mary Adeline (Adaline) Della Anderson, 1910-1914, (2) Viola Josephene (Josephine) Anderson, 1912-1920, (3) Bessie Murl Anderson Sage, 1915-1991, (4) Dorthy Lucille Anderson Richardson, 1917-2000, (5) Cleo Opal Anderson Strong King Flint, 1919-1983, (6) Sybil Marie Anderson Flint Durling Strong, 1922-1995, (7) Claud Ernest Anderson, 1924-1994, (8) Myrtle Imogene Anderson Simmons, 1926-1991, (9) Carmeletta Rose Anderson Carr Woods, 1929-2003, (10) Audrey LaVonne Anderson Perkett, 1931-1998.

Steve died in Stockton, San Joaquin County, California, on March 29, 1971. He was buried in Cherokee Memorial Cemetery, in Lodi, San Joaquin County, California.
