Funeral Of Bro. O.P. Allred
At Fairview, Wyo., at 1:30 a.m. Monday, March 21st 1910.
The Sunday school, of which Bro. Allred was Superintendent were dressed in uniform and each class conducted by their teacher met the hearse conveying the mortal remains of the beloved Superintendent at the southeast corner of the public square and marched in regular procession to the Meeting House, each carrying a beautiful bouquet; the crowd filled stupendously decorated house to overflowing.
The choir, conducted by Thos. B Lee, sang N0 17 from the Psalmony. Opening prayer by Elder F.G. Tolman; singing no. 339.
First Ass't. Sup't Levi Richardson said he had been immediately associated with Bro. Allred ever since he came to Star Valley and considered him to be one of the most punctual man he every saw.
Second Ass't A.M. Harmon, "If I can control my feelings I would like to speak a few words. My labors with Bro Allred has endeared us to each other. We have worked together continuously in this I am voicing the sentiment of all the officers and members of the Sunday School. Bro Allred was a leader in both religious and amusement pastimes and always punctual.
Heber F Burton, Stake superintendent of Sunday School, said: "Brother Allred, to whom we have assembled to pay tribute, is a good man and but few are as good; he was so active, so generous, and yet we would not call him back.Brother Allred has been faithful; let it be said that the children and families keep him in mind as their life"s star, as did the wise men, which star led them to Christ. we also love and respect Bro Allred. He then read resolutions adopted by the Afton Sunday School last Sunday in honor of the deceased.

Pres Geo. Osmond: In facing this large congregation recalls the necessity of the Spirit of the Lord; my sympathy goes out to the bereaved family.Bro. Allred has a good; record; he has been faithful and full of integrity; he was truly a Ward man who always preformed his share, and I wish men of his stamp were not so scarce; he was a teacher indeed; proficient war clerk, musical director, whole souled and devoted his life to the work of God. Life does not connence with our first breth of mortality, nor does it end with our last breth here on earth; our life's duty should not take up all our time. Who are the rich? I would point to the man like Bro. Allred, they are they who are heaping up treasures and weath in Eternity. How glorious is the end and how few things he has to regret regarding his earthly acts. Brother Allred has left a legacy of an honorable name to his family, let them try to imitate his example and live to honor that name, ALLRED. I pray God to bless and comfort the bereaved family.

Bishop Low of Afton said: "I imagine every heart in the house is tender and full of sympathy and love; I feel to say amen to what has been said of the departed; I feel that death is not the dreaded thing that I use to think it was, owing tot he greater knowledge that I have acquired through the study of the Gospel of Jesus Christ of which I am a member. I ask God to bless the family of Bro. Allred in their lonely hours of bereavement and through their lives.

Bp. Albert Barrus made a few closing remarks; said Bro. Allred was always at his post and he would miss him as much ,almost as any one; always felt to rely on him; he would neglect his own financial labors to fulfill his religious duties. Brother Allred is not idle now; he will have a great mansion in the Eternal kingdom.
Bro A.Lu Hale made a few remarks, recalling with fond remembrance his first acquaintance with the deceased, and that he was confirmed by Bro. Allred's father.
Verses of condolence from the officers and member of the Fariview Sunday School were read by Bro. Wm. J. Jensen.
Choir sang: "Mid scenes of confusion, and creature complaints."
