Funeral services for Theora A. Bargen, 67, of Superior, Nebraska, were held Wednesday, November 13, 1996, at 10:30 a.m. with Pastor Michael Osberg officiating. Burial was in Evergreen Cemetery, Superior.

Theora A. Bargen, daughter of Thaddeus and Edna Myrtle (Thurber) Sperry, was born August 6, 1929, at Superior, Nebraska, and passed away Sunday, November 10, 1996, at Washington, Kansas. She graduated from Superior High School.

She was baptized at the First Baptist Church in Superior by Rev. Fred Zabel on April 1, 1945, and confirmed October 9, 1949, at Salem Lutheran Church by Rev. J. Alvin Rueter.

April 21, 1949, at Salem Lutheran Church, Theora was united in marriage to Carl A. Bargen, Jr.

Theora was a member of Grace Lutheran Church in Hebron, Nebraska, for the past 12 years. She was also a member of Eagles Auxiliary of which she was Past President and BPW.

Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Carl, on January 24, 1879; a son, Curtis, on November 9, 1995; a grandson, Mason Bargen; two sisters, Eleanor Sperry and Wava Bargen; two brothers, Thaddeus (Teddy) and Ray Sperry; and three nephews, Larry Joe Bargen and Randy and Danny Sperry.

Survivors include four sons, Lynn Bargen and his wife Mary of McCook, Nebraska, Kevin Bargen and his wife Carmen and Kent Bargen and his wife Peggy, all of Superior, Nebraska; one daughter-in-law, Janet Bargen of Superior, Nebraska; three sisters, Edna Johnson, Lovey Lambert and her husband Chris and Irma Grummert, all of Superior, Nebraska; two brothers, Ray Sperry and his wife Twila of Lincoln, Nebraska, and Ron Sperry and his wife Lois of Belfry, Montana; two sisters-in-law, Rosemary Sperry of Lincoln, Nebraska and Bessie Fetch of Liberal, Kansas; one brother-in-law, Alvin Bargen of Hardy, Nebraska; and 17 grandchildren.

Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior, Nebraska, was in charge of the arrangements.
