MONTROSE--Carl W. Wooten, 65, of Truth or Consequences, N.M., a resident of Western Colorado for most of his life, died there today following a long illness.

Mr. Wooten was born Jan. 1, 1913, at Texline, Texas. He spent his childhood and attended school at Montrose. He graduated from high school at Branson.

Mr. Wooten and Louva Brown were married March 2, 1974 , at Juarez, Mexico. She survives.

He was a member of the Baptist church and the Masonic Lodge. He had worked as a carpenter, miner and grocer.

Survivors: Wife, Louva; daughter Mrs Raymond (Connie) Tellman, Germany; sons, Clifford Wooten, Agena, Guam, and Larry Dale Wooten, Brunswick, Maine; stepdaughters, Mrs Phill Robinson, Gunnison, Mrs. Frank Dunn, Springdale, Calif., and Mrs. Larry Cooten, Monta Vista; stepsons, Charles W. Brown, Carbondale, and Gale, Wayne, and Darel Brown, all of Montrose; sisters, Maxine Gilbert, Montrose, and Dorothy Gould, Brighton; brother, Lloyd B.
