This statement on an old cemetery record is all there is currently to identify this Wooten child. "Baby born to Mr. and Mrs. Elzie Wooten".

I was in shock when I discovered this memorial. Neither myself or any of my family new about this baby. Anyone who might have known has passed on. I have spoken with the Clayton newspaper and with the funeral home in Clayton (both were very nice people to speak with me) and I am trying to find out if this baby was a boy or girl. Hopefully research will let us know eventually. This baby would have been a full sibling to my grandmother and I know she had no idea of this birth. Her mother died when she was three and apparently her Dad, my great grandfather, Elza Elwood Wooten, never spoke of it. This has been a mind blowing find. I just hope we can find out a little more. God willing we will. My thank you's to Anonymous for graciously transferring him/her to my care.

4/7/2015 To date I have been unable to find anything that tells me the sex of this baby. Disappointed but I still have hope that some how it will come to light.
4/28/2016 Spoke with the NM Vital Records of fetal demise in an attempt to find out if there was a death record on this baby. They are suppose to call me back.
09/29/22 They never did call me back. So guess I will take another run at them.
