Mrs. William M. (Catherine) Meyer, 86, Pierz, died Oct. 30 at her home.
Catherine Meyer was born October 21, 1901 in Pierz Township, Morrison County, Minnesota, the daughter of the late Joseph and Mary Millner Hoheisel, and passed away Friday evening at her home in Pierz, Minnesota.
Catherine was united in marriage to William M. Meyer on October 23, 1923 in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz. Together they farmed in Pierz Township for over 31 years. She enjoyed her life as a homemaker and also the times when she could crochet and sew. Catherine loved to garden. She like to watch the flowers grow and blossom and the vegetables to develop into the food that would grace her table to be enjoyed by family and friends. After retiring in 1954, William and Catherine came to reside in Pierz. She continued to garden until ill health prevented her from continuing.
She leaves in hope in the resurrection to eternal life, her husband, William; sons, Leander M. Meyer and wife Catherine, Pierz, Ephriam E. Meyer and wife Bernice, Cushing, Minnesota; grandchildren; Gary W. Meyer, Mary C. Schraut, Clyde, Jerome, Leon, David, Kathy and Duane Meyer; 13 great grandchildren; brother, Frank J. Hoheisel, Pierz; sisters; Mrs. Anna Marn, St. Paul, Minnesota, Mrs. Leo "Barbara" Zenner, Belgrade, Minnesota, Mrs. Hildegarde Bujalski, Pierz, Mrs. Ray "Florentine" Herold, Buckman; nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Roger F. Meyer; a grandson, Gregory Meyer; a sister, Mrs. Matt (Mary) Schmidtbauer; and two brothers, Alfred and Joseph Hoheisel.
Funeral services were held Nov. 2 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierz with the Rev. Robert Landsberger officiating.
