Barbara Zenner, age 99, of Belgrade, died Sunday afternoon, January 13, 2008, at the Belgrade Nursing Home.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 19, 2008 at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Belgrade. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation will be 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday at the Johnson Funeral Home in Belgrade where there will be a 5:30 p.m. Christian Mothers Rosary and a 7:30 p.m. Parish Prayer Service. Visitation will continue on Saturday for one hour prior to the service at the church.
Barbara Margaret Zenner was born on Dec. 4, 1908 on the family farm near Pierz, MN, the daughter of Joseph and Mary Hoheisel. On Sept. 29, 1931, Barbara was united in marriage to Leo Zenner at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. They farmed near Elrosa for three years before moving to the farm southeast of Belgrade. Barbara helped farm and worked as a homemaker until their retirement in 1969 when they moved into Belgrade.
She is survived by nine children: Virginia (Maynard) Meierhofer of Ripon, Wl, Shirley (Albin) Lipold of The Villages, FL, LeRoy (Yvonne) Zenner of Richmond, MN, Elizabeth (Anthony) Waggoner of Northglenn, CO, Robert (Kathy) Zenner of Belgrade, MN, Florence Sheesley (Gerald Shamla) of St. Joseph, MN, Dennis (Colleen) Zenner of Lowry, MN, Gary Zenner of Cottage Grove, MN, and Mary Sagedahl of Burlington, IL; Daughter-in-law, Sue (Leon) Weiner of Belgrade, MN; 54 grandchildren; 63 great-grandchildren; and sister Hildegard Bujalski of Pierz, MN.
Barbara was preceded in death by husband, Leo; son, Steven; son-in-law, Arlen Sheesley; and grandchildren, Barbara Meierhofer, Jackie and Angela Zenner, and Amy Waggoner.
