Wilma June Dalton
Oct. 21, 1922 ~ July 9, 2008

Wilma June Dalton, 85, went home to be with her Lord and Roy, her husband of 69 years, on Wednesday, July 9, 2008, following a brief illness.

She will be missed by her children, Mike, Susan and Patrick; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; daughters-in-law past and present; sister-in-law, Patty; and cousins, nieces and nephews. Having lived a long and full life, June will be greeted in heaven by an infant daughter, Cathi; her parents; her devoted husband; three brothers; three sisters; a favorite son-in-law; and her three closest friends.

Known as June, Wilma, Mom, Nanny, sister and best friend, she was born in Lawrence County, Ind., on Oct. 21, 1922, to Cora Ray and Irvin Lewis. She resided in Lawrence County for 40 years and was employed for a time at RCA. She married Roy on Aug. 26, 1939. She had resided in Panama City, Fla., for more than 25 years.

June enjoyed her family, gardening, crafting, cooking, dog shows and volunteer work. She was a loving and generous person who enjoyed networking with friends. She was an active member of Omega Nu Tau Sorority, Altrusa, ABWA, Panama City Garden Club and the Panama City Lioness Club. She worked on charities for the Bay County Council on Aging and the "Santa is a Senior Citizen" program.

Those of us who remain behind are invited to honor her at 11 a.m. Monday, July 14, 2008, at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with the Rev. Virgil Tillman officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery.
