Carl was the son of John P Wollesen and Theresa Bishop. He married Eleanor Mauer on on 25 January 1928 in Crawford County, IA. They were the parents of Dale, Merlin, and an infant daughter.

Sept 5, 1951 - Carroll Daily Times - Carl Wollesen, Lake View farmer, passed away at his home Saturday noon. Though Mr Wollesen had not felt well for some time, he had been doing his work on the farm and assisting neighbors with the harvest up to the day preceding his death. He was 49 years old.

Carl Oscar Wollesen, son of John and Theresa Bishop Wollesen, was born near Lake View, Iowa.

In January of 1928, he was united in marriage with Miss Eleanor Mauer. The couple had three children, Dale and an infant daughter preceded him in death. For 8 years after their marriage, Mr and Mrs Wollesen farmed northwest of Lake View. In 1936 they moved onto the present farm 1 1/2 miles west of Lake View.

Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Eleanor; one son, Merlin; two brothers, Ed and Harry; and one sister, Mrs Oscar Weitzel.
