Elva Roberts Huskinson, 89, of Mesa, Ariz., formerly of Idaho Falls, died May 4, 2002. She was born March 18, 1913, at Sugar City, to John Lloyd Roberts and Amy Jaques Roberts, the eighth of fourteen children. She grew up in the Sugar City area and attended school in Sugar City and Id-mon, where her father farmed. She married Dale Huskin-son on Dec. 7, 1933, in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They farmed at Moody Creek and Hamilton, Mont. In 1954, they moved to Pocatello. She attended Idaho State University, earning a Bachelor' s Degree in speech therapy. She worked as a speech therapist in School District 91 in Idaho Falls until her retirement. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities. She and her husband served a mission for the church in northern Arizona. Survivors include daughter, Shirlee Bird of Mesa, Ariz.; sons, D. Lynn Huskinson, of Hamilton, Mont., Hal R. Huskinson of Missoula, Mont.; daughter Deanna Anderson of Iona; sister June Albano of Orem, Utah; brothers, Luther Roberts of Weiser, Idaho, Wesley Roberts of Ontario, Ore.; 16 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband. Graveside services will be at noon Friday at the Teton City Cemetery. The family will meet with friends at Wood Funeral Home, 273 N. Ridge Ave. in Idaho Falls, on Friday from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to your local hospice organization.
