Wesley Lloyd Roberts, 88, of Ontario, Ore. died peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 13, 2007. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Loanda, and their nine children, Jeaneen (Don) Sullivan, Rhea (Richard) Miner, Joe (Rhodonna) Roberts, Sally (Bill) Paxman, Judy (Rick) Salway, Ethel (Rodney) Warner, Frank (Winnie) Roberts, Fred (Mary) Roberts, and Russell (Laura) Roberts, 59 grandchildren, and 89 great-grandchildren. They also were foster parents to numerous other children. Wesley was born in Sugar City, Idaho. He was the 12th of 14 children who are all now deceased. He was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints for which he and his wife served five missions. His service blessed the lives of many and he will be greatly missed. He was also active in the farming community, both in Idaho Falls, Idaho and Ontario, Ore. for many years. He was a founding member of the Malheur County Potato Bargaining Association and served on the National Potato Promotion Board and in the Farm Bureau. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, March 17, 2007 at the L.D.S. Stake Center, 1705 NW 4th Ave. in Ontario, Ore. with vault interment to follow at Sunset Cemetery. The viewings will be held on Friday, March 16, 2007 from 7-8:30 p.m. at the church and on Saturday from 9:30-10:30 a.m. prior to the service. Arrangements are under the direction of the Haren-Wood Funeral Chapel, Ontario.
