Mrs. W. B. Covell, 61, Succumbed
Jennie Sterling Covell, 61, died at her home in Pope Mills Monday morning at 3:30. Although suffering from a heart ailment for some time; she was confined to her bed but two weeks prior to her death . Mrs. Covell was born in the town of Macomb, May 6, 1874, daughter of the late Harriet Washburn Sterling. She attended the Gouverneur Wesleyan Seminary and was a successful teacher in Macomb and Gouverneur for five year. On July 13, 1895, she was married to Willet B. Covell by the Rev. O. D. Moore in Morristown, and has always resided at the Covell homestead in Pope Mills. She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church and an active member of the Macomb Grange, no. 768, and served as Chaplain for several years. Mrs. Covell was an ardent admirer and collector of wild flowers and many of her collections were exhibited at various fairs and invariably received first premium. She was also fond of studying and collecting antique colored glassware, first edition books, and Currier and Ives prints.

Surviving are her husband, Willet B. Covell of Pope Mils; four sons, Charles O. Covell of Westfield, N.J.; Frederick G. Covell of Oakland, California; Roswell B. Covell of Bridehampton, Long Island; Woodrow W. Covell, a student at St. Lawrence University; two daughters, Faith A. Covell of Pope Mills and Aring J. Covell of Harverstraw, N.Y.; three sisters, Mrs. J. Cameron of New York city, Mrs. William J. Larock of Dekalb Junction and Miss Flora Sterling of Toronto, Canada; one brother, Perry G. Sterling of Macomb; one grandson, Frederick Albert Covell, son of Fred J. Covell.

The funeral will be held from the family residence Wednesday at 2 p.m. The Rev. P. D. Mang will officiate and burial will be in the Oldsville cemetery
